Sunday Funday

Sunday we let Tabasco and Shoni out into the big field to graze, but they were more interested in running. :)

Tabasco kicked up his heals and Shoni jumped for joy.

Tabasco and Shoni did eventually settle down and graze. I went into the house for a while and when I went back out they took time out of grazing to come over and say hello. It amazes me how much these two love people. They just love to be near you get a get loved on.

Catch up

Back to trying to catch up again.

It's been a rough year with for us. In March we had to put Whiskers down, April my Grandma H had a stroke, May my Grandma D passed away, June my Grandpa M passed away, and in July my Grandpa D had his leg amputated. I switched to the night shift with my job and have been working some overtime so there hasn't been much free time left for horse time.

Finally this weekend slowed down and we got to have some fun so I'll post the pictures later. :)

This is the best time of the year. The horses look gorgeous since they shed out and the weather has been nice. Not too hot and not too cold. Makes it so much better when you're trying to enjoy quality horse time! I don't really have anything new to report with the horses so I'll just post a bunch of photos. :)

Shoni is such a sweetheart. Anytime I sit down on the ground or a feed bucket in their pen she will come over and stand over me and let me lean on her legs or lay my head against her chest (of course this is only when I am the only human around, if I try to get someone else with a camera Shoni assumes there's food involved!). It's such a neat experience and I feel so safe with her.

The Farm

My great aunt has a farm a few hours from us and we got to go visit her and see two of their foals and their herd of cattle. I could have stayed out there all day!

These two calves were too cute givin' kisses and telling each other secrets

I loved the cow above, she was so pretty.

I liked this cow too, she is such a pretty blonde color. In all of the pictures I took with her show her mouth open though.

Dear Grandma

Dear Grandma,

It's never easy to say goodbye so I'll just say see you later.

I'll miss your homemade blueberry pies, a warm place to visit, listening to you and Grandpa acting like "an old married couple", receiving a letter in the mail, and getting to talk to you, most of all I'm going to miss you.

It's just not the same without you here and we're all feeling the void. I know Grandpa misses you the most, after all 62 years is a long time. We'll take good care of him while you're gone and I know we'll see you again someday. In the meantime, I hope you are having fun being reunited with the others who have gone on before and I hope you are kicking their butts in cards!
